The Subtitles of The Italian Screwjob

Posted on 2022-03-032022-03-03 by Chris Tullbane

The Italian Screwjob is the fourth book of The Many Travails of John Smith. That means more adventures for our affable everyman, more supernatural hijinks, more drama, trauma, and Obama (technically, anyway… the book is set in 2015), and especially more of the chapter subtitles readers know and love.

The Pricing is the Thing…

Posted on 2022-03-012022-03-03 by Chris Tullbane

A subject that pops up from time to time in self-publishing circles is pricing.  How much is too much? Is there even such a thing as too cheap? Do readers treat free books differently than they would books they have to buy? And is there even such a thing as a consensus opinion these days?

One Tin Soldier’s Release: Looking back… and forward

Posted on 2021-11-192021-11-19 by Chris Tullbane

It’s been ten days since One Tin Soldier‘s release, which somehow means Thanksgiving is less than a week away, Christmas is less than five, and it’ll be 2053 before we know it. As ever, time has no real meaning anymore. Still, it seemed like a good time to look back at the release and to…

One Tin Soldier: Chapter 3

Posted on 2021-10-282021-11-02 by Chris Tullbane

We had a week to get things together before Mammoth and the Mission left town. I spent most of it with Tessa, of course, each of us coming to grips with the reality that the next time we saw each other would be damn near Christmas.

One Tin Soldier: Chapter 2

Posted on 2021-10-262021-11-02 by Chris Tullbane

I loathe being the center of attention. Maybe things were different back when my mom was still breathing, but if so, growing up in an orphanage had beaten the attention-seeker right out of me. Do what you have to, fight for what matters, and don’t back down from anyone, sure enough… but public speaking? Stepping out from the crowd, drawing every eye and sudden hushed whisper?

Not my idea of a party.
