The Queen of Smiles: Chapter 1
I’m counting down to the November 22 release of The Queen of Smiles by sharing sample chapters, book stats, content warnings, and whatever else seems fun. Here is Chapter 1!
A Busy Holiday Release Schedule
With the release of The Queen of Smiles less than a month away, you can expect things to pick up around here again, with sample chapters, release day roundups, and the like. But the new book’s release is far from the only thing that’s coming down the pipeline this season!
Here’s what’s in store, starting with tomorrow’s somewhat surprise audiobook release and then proceeding all the way to Christmas…
The Next Post-Break Novel
It’s almost October in what has been both a very long and very short year, and, per a tradition established all the way back in the before-days of 2019, that means I should have a new book coming out in a month or two. I’ve already shared a few rough snippets in the magical land of social media, but today we’re going to do something different.
A title reveal? Well, yes.
A cover reveal? Yeah, that too.
But before we get to any of that, I’ll be answering questions from the most insufferable of interviewers…
That’s right: I’m interviewing myself, and I will not rest until I have all the dirt on this new book and the man who is allegedly writing it.
The Merry Writer Podcast Interview – How Do You Talk about Your Writing To People?
Recently, I was invited as a guest on an episode of The Merry Writer Podcast, the long-running, writing-related podcast recorded by Ari Meghlen and Rachel Poli.
Our topic was “How Do You Talk About Your Writing To People?” Those who know me know that it’s both a subject near and dear to my heart and something I struggle with on an almost daily basis.
In August, We Adjust
August is always an odd month for me. Most years, I’m doing everything I can to finish the book that’s due to be released in November. This year, I was supposed to be doing that and taking a victory lap after releasing my new series starter over the summer.
I know, I know… I can hear you ask: “What new series starter? Did I miss a release? Am I on the Naughty List now?”
A Very Late Status Update
I’ve had several people reach out to me recently to make sure I was still alive… which is always a strong indicator that it’s been far too long since my last update. This month’s post will be a short one, because, as you’ll see, things are really busy. Still, May has one day left and…
The One Tin Soldier audiobook is now available!
Today is apparently an audiobook sort of day. I am thrilled to announce that the One Tin Soldier audiobook is officially live and available on Amazon, Audible, and iTunes!
The Italian Screwjob, post-release: what’s up and what’s next
There’s nothing like a new release to make the month fly by, is there? It feels like just yesterday that I was releasing The Italian Screwjob, but it’s already been more than two weeks, and April is now knocking on the door, probably with a pie ready to throw. Before that inevitable (and inevitably unfunny) pie to the face, I wanted to do a quick retrospective on the release. Sales reports, reviews, progress updates, and a tenative two-year publishing schedule… let’s see what’s up and what’s next.
The Italian Screwjob is now available!
Beware the Ides of March It’s all too fitting that The Italian Screwjob, a book centered around the murder of a ruler in Rome, should be releasing on the Ides of March. I’m happy to announce that the book I sometimes describe as John Smith Goes to Italy and Eats Spaghetti is now available! The…
